Why do we recommend Bullguard Internet Security? One of the main reasons is that it always finds Viruses/Malware that other security software doesn't. It also boosts an On line Backup facility, Firewall, Anti-Spam, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus. How to get BullGuard set-up so that you get the best from it? Update frequency Start by going into the Main BullGuard - Overview screen and select Settings Then select Advanced Tab and change the Update frequency, Check every: value to 1 hour. Click OK AV Setup Good. Now click on Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware button on the left. Slide the drag bar on the right, all the way down. Change the First action to perform to Disinfect file, then change the second action to Move file to quarantine. AV Schedule It is also worth creating a schedule for scanning your machine, at minimum of weekly. This can be done, by clicking on the Scan tab, click on Schedule and tick the Schedule this scan box and select a time and date and frequency. Firewall Now on to the Firewall, on the left. Change the radio button to Advanced. Click on the OK button of the window that appears. This will make a new tab appear across the top. Select the new tab called Profiles. Double click on Custom Security. Select the last tab, Notifications. Select the second radio button, called Slightly allow all applications. Then de-select Display a security notification. Click OK. Then Click Activate. Close BullGuard. Restart your machine and do this last Firewall procedure again, since it forgets the first time! |
